How to
07Reading a jersey title
Product titles are long because they carry the player, the team, the build and the cut. Here is what each part means.
How to read a jersey title
| Part of the title | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Mark Scheifele | The player whose name and number are on the back. |
| Winnipeg Jets | The club. Every club has its own collection page. |
| Breakaway / Premier / Premium | The build — this is what moves the price. |
| Home / Away / Alternate | Which of the club’s kits the jersey is. |
| Women’s / Youth | The cut the garment is made in. |
| Custom | Styles you personalise with your own name and number. |
Fit
08How NHL jerseys are cut
Very loose — and it is worth knowing before you order, because the same size letter means something different in each of the six leagues.
The cut
Hockey shirts are the loosest cut of all six leagues. There is real room for a hoodie underneath — that is exactly how they are meant to be worn.
Order your true size
Take your true size and do not size up, even if you normally go a size larger in other sports. Sizing up here will swim on you.
How it compares
The roomiest shirt we carry — looser than football, basketball, baseball and soccer.
Sizing
09NHL sizing, measured
Hockey shirts are the loosest cut we carry — wide through the chest, extra-long in the sleeve, built to be worn over layers. Order your true chest size and do not size up.
| Your chest | NHL size |
|---|---|
| 33–35" | S |
| 35–37" | S |
| 37–40" | S–M |
| 40–43" | M |
| 43–47" | L |
| 47–51" | XL |
| 51–55" | 2XL |
| 55"+ | 3XL |
Chest figures are body measurements, not garment measurements, and match the quick finder on our size guide. Between two sizes? Take the larger one.
| Size | Chest (in) | Chest (cm) | Length (in) | Sleeve |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 40–43 | 102–109 | 30 | 24" |
| M | 43–46 | 109–117 | 31 | 25" |
| L | 46–49 | 117–124 | 32 | 26" |
| XL | 49–52 | 124–132 | 33 | 27" |
| 2XL | 52–55 | 132–140 | 34 | 28" |
| 3XL | 55–58 | 140–147 | 35 | 29" |
Sleeves are cut long on purpose: 24" at S rising to 29" at 3XL.
The cut
The roomiest silhouette of the six leagues. A 40" chest wears an NHL small the way it wears a soccer large.
Two numbers decide it
Chest first, every time. Waist and hip only matter once you move on to shorts, joggers or track pants — jerseys hang from the chest and shoulders.
Free size check before dispatch
Order the size you think fits, then send your height, chest and waist to fanservice2026@outlook.com. We measure against the shirt before it ships and send the size that actually fits instead.
Custom
10Names and numbers
Names and numbers are applied to the back and sleeves, including captain and alternate captain lettering if that is what you are after. Printing is applied to order, so a personalised shirt is made for you alone and takes longer to leave the warehouse than a plain one.
Pick the shirt
Choose the team, the colourway and the build you want. Every build we carry accepts printing.
Type the name and number
Your own name, a family name or a player from any era. Check the spelling before you pay — we print exactly what you send.
We print it to order
The name and number are applied after you order, then the shirt is packed and dispatched. Allow extra time on top of normal delivery.
Check the spelling twice
Personalised shirts are printed from your text. An error in the name or number is not a fault in the shirt, so read it back once before you complete the order.
Sizing comes first
Custom shirts are final sale, so lock the size down before the printing is applied. Send us your measurements and we will confirm the size for you.
FAQ
11NHL questions
Are all 32 clubs covered?
Yes. Each club has its own collection page, linked from the grid above, with the live count of styles in stock shown underneath.
When does the 2026/27 season start?
Opening night is September 29, 2026 — an earlier start than usual, because the season has expanded to 84 games. Everything on this page is in stock before then.
Which build is right for me?
Breakaway is the everyday fan jersey and what most people buy. Premier sits just above it. Premium is the top build we carry for the league.
Are women’s fits available?
Yes, and they are a large part of the collection — women’s cuts are named in the title. Youth sizes are available too.
Can I personalise a jersey?
Yes, on the styles listed as custom. Those are named with "Custom" in the product title.
What are the Military Appreciation and Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys?
League-wide design programmes that clubs wear during the season. They are listed under their own names and sit at the top of our price range for the league.
Delivery and returns?
Free shipping over $68, and 30-day returns on unused items with tags attached. Both pages have the detail.
How do I contact you?
Email fanservice2026@outlook.com — replies within 24–48 hours.
How does NHL sizing compare with the other leagues?
It runs the loosest. A chest that lands in hockey size M would take size L in football and size L in soccer, so read the hockey column on its own rather than reusing a size letter.
How do I wash a hockey jersey?
Cold and inside out, with the sleeves turned in so the crests do not rub together. Dry flat, never on a radiator, and keep the iron away from every printed panel.
Service
12Delivery, tracking and returns
Everything that happens after you pay, in one place — so you know when the shirt lands and what to do if it does not fit.
| What | The detail |
|---|---|
| Free shipping | Every order of $68 and over ships free, worldwide. Under $68 a flat rate applies per order — not per item, because multiple shirts ship together. |
| Dispatch | Packed and sent from our warehouse. Weekend and public-holiday orders begin processing the next business day. |
| Custom orders | Personalised shirts take longer, because the name and number are applied to order. Current lead times are on the shipping page. |
| Tracking | A tracking reference is emailed the moment your parcel is dispatched. The first carrier scan can take a little while to appear. |
| Returns | 30 days from delivery. Unworn, unwashed, tags on. Custom shirts are final sale. |
| Refunds | Inspected on arrival, then refunded to the original payment method. Allow 3–7 business days for the refund to be issued once the parcel is back with us. |
| Duties and customs | Orders shipped outside the United States may attract import duty or VAT charged by your own authority. We declare parcels at their true value and cannot mark an order as a gift. |
Need it for a date?
Tell us the match day before you order and we will say honestly whether an NHL shirt can arrive in time — rather than let you find out afterwards.
Wrong size, not wrong shirt
Exchanges are the common case here. Email your order number and the size you want instead, and we reply within 24–48 hours with the return address.
Damaged or misprinted
If a shirt arrives marked, misprinted or the wrong item entirely, return shipping is on us. Send a photo with your order number and we will sort it.
Care
13Keeping an NHL shirt looking new
Hockey shirts carry the biggest printed panels of any league — large back number, full nameplate, shoulder crests. Bigger print means more surface to protect. Six habits and a shirt will still look like the day it arrived in five years.
Wash cold, inside out
Thirty degrees or cooler, with the shirt turned inside out so the printed panels never rub against the drum or against other washing. Turn the sleeves in too.
No fabric softener, no bleach
Softener leaves a film that lifts print edges over time, and bleach attacks colour in a way that cannot be reversed. A normal detergent is all the shirt needs.
Never iron the number or the crest
Direct heat is what removes heat-applied print. If the shirt needs pressing at all, do it inside out on the lowest setting, and keep the iron well away from every printed panel.
Skip the tumble dryer
Heat and tumbling are the two things printed sportswear dislikes most. Hang it or lay it flat instead — the shirt keeps its shape and the print keeps its edge.
Keep it out of dry cleaning
Solvent cleaning is hard on printed panels and on the trim. A cold home wash does everything an NHL shirt actually needs.
Store it folded, or on a wide hanger
Thin wire hangers stretch the shoulders. Fold flat, or use a wide wooden hanger — and keep shirts out of direct sunlight if they hang for months at a time.
Looked after this way, a shirt survives far more than one season of wear. And if a print does fail on a shirt that has been treated properly, tell us — we would rather know.
Not sure which one?
Tell us the player, the team and the size and we will point you at the right build.

Names move fast at this point in the season. If you are buying to wear it rather than to keep it on a shelf, the player version and the team version are cut differently — the size guide below covers both.
Buying for someone else
Most NHL jerseys bought here are gifts. Three ways people order them, and the one thing that matters in each case.
For the rink regular
Home, road and alternate colourways so there is something for every game.
For the winter classic fan
The heritage and winter-classic cuts, where the fabric changes noticeably.
For the Canadian market
Hockey carries differently here — a heavier, warmer knit is worth calling out.
NHL questions, answered
Timing and stock, rather than the sizing and shipping questions the buying FAQ above already covers.
Timing When is the best time to buy a 2026/27 NHL jersey?
The 31 December Winter Classic is the nicest shirt of the season and the least reliably in stock. Ordering two to three weeks ahead is the difference between getting the classic cut and missing it.
Choosing Breakaway, Premier or Premium — which should I buy?
Breakaway is the everyday fan jersey and the most common choice. Premier sits between. Premium is the top build we carry. Hockey prices sit closer together than the other leagues, so the gap between tiers is narrower here than in football.
Timing Do European buyers need different timing?
The Global Series in Helsinki on 12-14 November and Dusseldorf on 18-20 December are played at European afternoon hours, so a same-day order can still catch the game. Outside those, remember the delivery windows run from dispatch, not from the day you order.
Stock The players in section 17 — why fewer than the other leagues?
Because the page carries fewer featured names, not because the store does. Search the club directly for the full run — the club collections carry every player version we stock.
Coverage Is the 84-game season going to change what I should buy?
It extends the season rather than changing the shirts. More games means more occasions to wear it, not a different product.
Anything not covered here, email fanservice2026@outlook.com — sizing questions get an answer fastest, and we will tell you plainly if a date is not going to work.
Which cut should you actually buy
Hockey jerseys are roomier than they look in a photo. If you are between two sizes this is where the choice matters.

Getting the size right the first time
Four measurements, taken in this order. Chest decides it; the rest only confirm. Most sizing returns trace back to skipping the first one.
-
01
Chest
Around the fullest part, under the arms, tape level and not pulled tight.
This is the measurement that decides the size. Everything else only confirms it. -
02
Length
From the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem.
Cuts differ here more than anywhere else — that is the whole difference between a men's and a big & tall garment. -
03
Shoulder
Across the top of one shoulder to the other.
If this is more than a centimetre over your usual measurement you want the next size up. -
04
Waist
Around the natural waist, where the body is narrowest.
Only matters on women's and youth cuts. If it is more than 2–3 cm out, size down.
Between two sizes on a hockey jersey
Hockey cuts are roomier than they look. Take the smaller of the two unless you are between the chest band and the size above it, in which case take the larger.
Unused items with the tags attached can go back within 30 days — but getting it right first time is faster than doing that.
